One of the interactions between a control and a widget lets you choose which option to highlight on the chart.
To do this, create a control with the options and assign it to the chart widget as 'Other → Highlight’.
Select the chart, go to the left menu pane → Chart tab → Highlight, and pick a color for the highlighted category.
In VIEW mode, switching the control changes the highlighted categories in the chart.
