Clone controls, charts and other elements on tabs

Updated over 3 months ago

On the dashboard, you can use several shortcuts to copy elements.

Clone an entire tab

First, you can clone an entire tab with all elements at once. This is convenient when a new tab repeats the content structure and you don't have to spend time rebuilding it.

How to clone tab:

Go to the left pane → Menu → Click on the ‘snowman’ icon on the right of any tab → Select ‘Clone’.

Distribute widgets and controls

The easiest way to distribute dashboard elements across different tabs is by using the tab tree in the widget menu.
Select an element, expand the tabs drop-down list in the widget settings, and tick those tabs to which you want to distribute the widget.

How to distribute a widget

Click the ALL button next to the tab tree to distribute elements across all existing tabs simultaneously.

Keep in mind that distribution essentially multiplies the same element (with the same ID). As a result, it preserves all the settings of the element, they remain the same for all the distributed elements: size, position on the dashboard, names, fonts, etc. Also, when distributing all control-widget and control-control connections are preserved if all elements were distributed.

Be careful when deleting distributed widgets. The best way to remove an element from a tab is by using the tab tree. If you click the ‘delete’ icon for a distributed element, a popup window will prompt you to choose whether to remove it from the current tab or all tabs.

To delete distributed elements

To get a fully independent widget with individual ID and settings, use the clone function in the widget settings.

Clone widgets and controls

To clone a widget or a control, select an element and click the ‘clone’ icon in the widget menu. The item is cloned directly onto the same tab, and after that, you can use the tab tree to move it to the required tab. Once moved, the widget will be independent of the original, allowing you to change its position, adjust all settings, connect it with different controls, and delete without affecting other tabs.
