Making control works properly by assigning it to other widgets on a dashboard

Updated over a week ago

After creating a control, we need to assign it to other widgets to activate its functionality.

How to assign a control to a widget

  1. In EDIT mode click on a control;

  2. In the left corner of all widgets appears a command panel where you can see a list of assigning options:

    1. Put on: Rows/Columns/Split - the control will replace any of the above on the subsequent axis;

    2. Mask: Rows/Columns/Split - the control will choose what variants from the subsequent axis will be displayed;

    3. Filter - all data in the chart will be filtered through the control;

    4. Value - the control will replace current values with digital equivalents of chosen variables;

    5. Single - combines the selected options by OR logical expression and puts it as one value on the widget;

    6. Compare with - substitutes the base for comparison;

    7. Sort by - choose by which attribute the data will be sorted.

  3. Select the widget you want to link with the control and choose the assigning option. The interaction within a control-widget pair cannot be multivariate.

  4. Switch to the VIEW mode to check the controls in action.
