You can limit access to dashboard data to specific user groups (created by country, region, company, department, or other relevant criteria). This can be done in two main ways:
Restricting access to data (for example, only showing country-specific data to users from that country)
Managing the visibility of specific widgets (for instance, displaying detailed tables only to users from the analytical department).
Access is managed by a control synchronized with groups. When switching, this control manages the rules for data visibility.
How to connect groups and control options
Create and configure user groups.
Create a control with any options in the number corresponding to the number of groups. You don’t need to have a special variable for the groups.
Rename control options to match the group labels. Please note that the labels are case-insensitive (e.g., 'marketing' and ‘MARKETING’ will match), but there must be no differences in syllables. Otherwise, the dashboard can work incorrectly for non-matching groups.
In EDIT mode double-click on the ‘Groups’ icon on the top-right menu. The ‘sync’ option will appear on all available controls. Synchronize the control with groups.
Create contexts or make control-control connections to manage the data visibility depending on the control positions.
The synchronized with groups control will be invisible to viewers.
