The DataTile team is pleased to provide you with another brief update on our latest updates.
Here are our major developments in May:
Correspondence Analysis Module in DataTile;
The new type of number chart - rating ‘star’ chart;
The new type of grid chart - preformatted table;
Chart Publication & Embedding v.2;
Significance: new look&feel;
ARR declaration in a codebook.
Correspondence Analysis Module (CA Module)
A huge upgrade in DataTile functionality now enables you to employ Correspondence Analysis (CA) directly within the DataTile interface. In a nutshell, if you enable the CA Module on a server, you'll get a robust tool for exploring relationships between multiple categorical variables and visualizing results. A more detailed and informative manual on how to use Correspondence Analysis in DataTile can be found here.
Star Rating Chart
We introduce a new type of number chart that displays ratings with a row of stars that fill based on the numeric value. The fill is calculated as a percentage of the maximum value, allowing for precise, continuous coloring that can fill parts of stars.
Key Features:
Single value display: this chart type displays only one value. If your crosstab contains multiple numbers, you can select which one to display in the chart settings.
Customization: you can add labels, and customize colors, fonts, and layouts to fit your needs.
Flexible settings: set the maximum value and the number of stars in a row to match your data's requirements.
Try it out and make your dashboard more expressive.
Preformatted Grid Chart
The second new addition to the chart library is a new table subtype in the GRID section. Drawing on best practices from various global sources, we have carefully designed a simple and efficient tabular visualization method. With minimal effort, you can now create organized and insightful tables to elevate your data presentations.
Chart Publication v.2
We’ve revolutionized how charts can be distributed to your audience. DataTile charts can now be published as standalone, server-independent entities. With just a few simple steps, a chart can be shared on social media, embedded into your website, becoming a part of the visual content, or even integrated into an iframe.
Here is an example of how this was done in the report article on the extensive Duamentes study.
Significance: new look&feel
We have enhanced and improved the significance settings, expanding the capabilities of measuring confidence levels. Here is what you get:
Simultaneous Activation of Thresholds: now, all three thresholds can be enabled concurrently, with distinct indicators clearly distinguished for each threshold.
Advanced Significance Test with Audience Overlap Detection: the advanced significance test is specifically designed for overlapped bases, providing a more sensitive approach to comparing overlapping audiences which is especially beneficial when contrasting a specific segment with the total sample or asserting differences within groups defined by multi-response questions.
Customizable Legends: significance legends can be customized and templated for display on charts, providing flexibility and clarity in visual representation.

ARR declaration in a codebook
ARR is a new type of declaration capable of replacing the entire bunch of CAT declarations with a single line in a codebook. This innovation aims to save time and make data structure descriptions more compact, provided they follow a specific pattern. With a single declaration, you can add multiple DICTIONARY variables to ARR, all sharing the same set of categories and labels. The datatileId
and dataId
will be generated using a templated approach, simplifying and speeding up the process.
The most important point here is to keep consistency in the dictionaries. Once achieved, the complexity of cross-marketing trend research data is no longer a problem. Properly added incoming data to the dictionary (DIC) will be automatically processed in DataTile. Here’s an example of how it works for a 3-level structured ARR:
