Welcome to October's product development digest. This month, we worked diligently to develop DataTile and improve the user experience.
Here's a quick summary:
Auto tokenizer for more advanced work with Word Cloud charts.
Tab migration between databases.
Enhanced сontrol titles settings.
The configuration of dashboard download options available to viewers.
Auto tokenizer for Word Clouds
The advanced auto tokenizer feature enhances working with text variables and Word clouds in Data Tile. When auto tokenizer is enabled, no matter what text blocks are in the text variable, they will be divided into separate words, and the Word Cloud chart will be built on their basis.
This feature allows you to avoid the time-consuming dataset coding of terms, brands, or hashtags needed for Word Cloud - now they can be easily extracted from larger blocks of text.
You can read a detailed article about the auto tokenizer.
Tabs migration between databases
When working in crosstab, you can save requests as separate tabs, and return to them anytime. Now you can not only use tabs in a specific database but also copy and transfer them to another database.
Utilizing identical requests across a range of databases eliminates the need for recreating each request from scratch. This feature will significantly reduce time consumption when conducting similar research across multiple markets or products.
To copy the request to another database
open the tab panel;
select the request;
click on the ‘snowman’ icon to open the popup menu;
click on the ‘Copy to another database’ option;
choose the target database from the list
You can only migrate tabs between databases for which you have edit permission.
Control title settings
The control widget has been updated to include individual settings menus for both the title and the layout.
The title menu can be found in the left menu panel when the control is selected. Here, you can enter the text, adjust font settings, and set the title position. Navigate the left menu panel → Control → Title.
If nothing is adjusted here, the default dashboard settings will be applied. The default settings for the control title are defined by the widget label settings in the common styles menu.
The proxy control and the comparison toggle button share the same title settings.
Optional downloading of a dashboard
Previously, in VIEW mode, users had three options at once for downloading a dashboard: Export to PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Now you can limit these options to any number if you have edit permission. To do this switch to EDIT mode, click the ‘share’ icon, and untick the checkboxes next to the options you want to hide. Or reverse, check the boxes next to the options you leave active.
Only the selected options for exporting the dashboard will be visible in VIEW mode.
