Manual rebasing through editing control options
Click on the ‘Create a control’ icon;
Add options to the control ‘as list’;
Click on the edit icon next to each option;
Go to the ‘Base’ tab;
Build the rebasing expression here and click on SAVE;
Rebasing will only be applied to one option. The option becomes underlined.
Automatic rebasing through ‘All’ control feature
Click on the ‘Create a control’ icon;
In the categories submenu choose the ‘All’ option;
The rebase field appears (colored green);
Add the variable to the control;
Choose the variable for rebasing, drag&drop it upon the rebase field;
The operation ‘Rebase: match categories with labels’ is applied under the hood.
Using the “All” option when creating a control ensures that the control is automatically updated when new options appear. The same applies to the variable used for the rebase field.
Change bases on a dashboard
We can use the control itself to switch between several bases.
Click on the ‘Create a control’ icon;
In the categories submenu, select the “All” option. If you save any other option, the data will not change.
Select the variable that will be the first base and drag and drop it into the control field;
Name the control tab properly;
Create another tab and repeat steps from 2 to 4. Do it as many times as many bases as needed.
Save control and return to EDIT mode on a dashboard;
Assign control to a chart widget as ‘Rebase’
Select the widget, go to the assignments, and check how the rebase control is applied to columns/rows (change depends on what you need)
Go to the VIEW mode and check how the rebasing works.
A control assigned as rebase will only work when using the “All” option and applied according to the “Rebase: Category and Label Matching” principle.
If you need completely different options (with different labels) or even logical expressions for rebase, you need to use manual rebase.
