Adding links on Dashboards
Updated over a month ago

On a dashboard, you can add a direct link to any resource or entity. For example, you can insert a link to your website, social media page, or another DataTile dashboard with additional data.

  1. A link can be added to a text widget, which does not necessarily have to contain any text;

  2. A link can be added to an image widget.

The entire widget will function as an active zone, and clicking on it in VIEW mode will trigger a redirection.

How to insert a link to a widget

Link placement

  • Open a dashboard in EDIT mode and add a text/image widget;

  • Adjust the widget's position, size, and color, you can also add some text to a text widget;

  • Select the widget and find the input field for the link in the widget settings panel;

  • Insert the link you need;

  • Go to VIEW mode to check how the link works.

Internal links to Tabs & Dashboards

For text widgets, in addition to regular links, you can add an internal link to another tab or dashboard located on the same server. To add an internal link:

  • Start typing the title of the entity in the link input field. You need to enter at least three characters for the system to provide suggestions;

  • Select the entity from the list of suggestions. The selected entity will replace the link input field;

  • Go to VIEW mode to check how the link works.

An example of interlinking

Make sure the access rights to the dashboard and the linked entities are properly configured for all dashboard users.
